Intercontinental Trading Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato, Tokyo; CEO: Luis Vigden), which imports and sells foreign cigarettes, will release three new Kretek cigarette brands manufactured by Indonesia's Jarum company: L.A. Ice Purple Boost, L.A. Ice, and L.A. Bold. These will be available from December 2, 2024 (Monday) at tobacco retailers nationwide.

What is Kretek Tobacco?
Kretek tobacco is believed to have originated in the early 1880s, when cloves were mixed with tobacco leaves as a pain reliever for asthma symptoms and sold in pharmacies.
Secret Sauce
To highlight the rich aroma of traditional Kretek, the source ingredients for the "sauce" include many products sourced from Indonesia, such as cinnamon, jackfruit, and vanilla. Additionally, various herbs and spices are used. With each puff, the sweet scent of cloves and tropical flavors waft through, creating a unique experience.
